Theme: Six months ago, a gigantic solar flare generated an ElectroÂMagnetic Pulse (EMP) so massive that it destroyed all electronic equipment in North America. You have 200 words to write a story that takes place in the Casey County of this new world. GO!
Length: 200 words or less, typed and doubleÂspaced
Deadline: All entries must be received no later than Friday, March 27th, 2015. Eligibility: All entrants must be a resident of Casey County.
Age Groups:
 Youth (grades 7 – 12)
Adults (age 18 & over)
Awards for each age group: First prize: $ 75 Second prize: $ 50 Third prize: $ 25
Winners will be notified by Wednesday, April 29th; prizes will be awarded on Saturday, May 2nd. Winning entrants will also receive award certificates and have their stories published in the Casey County News!
Judging: Each entry will be reviewed & scored by three (3) or more independent judges on:
Creativity–50 points
Originality Grammar–25 point
Mechanics Personal Impression–25 points
Submission Guidelines
 All entries must be original, unpublished work.
 Entries must be typed and doubleÂspaced.
 Only one (1) entry per person. Entries will not be returned.
 Entries received after deadline will not be eligible. All judges’ decisions are final. Â
