Description: Growing up in the Appalachian tradition of storytelling, Octavia Sexton tells stories in her natural dialect. She performs folktales, ghost ‘haint’ tales, and personal stories. Come experience the excitement of Appalachian tales, told by a masterful storyteller.
From 10 – 11, Octavia will delight the audience with Appalachian folktales and stories.From 11 – 12, it’s the audience’s turn! Octavia will teach everyone how to craft their own folktale—whether it’s one that’s larger than life or based on a personal experience.
