Current and Upcoming Projects
Oral History Collection
The Casey County Public Library is working on digitizing the previous round of oral histories. At the same time, Casey History Maker volunteers are assisting with providing transcripts to go along with each of the interviews.
Photograph Identification
The Casey History Makers are assisting the library with identifying locations and individuals in pictures that currently have no labels.
Casey County Maps Project (June – August 2026)
Thanks to an America250KY grant, the library was able to purchase flat files for storage of its large historical documents. As part of this project, maps and other flat files will be organized, have descriptions added, and be cataloged for easier access.
Oral History Project (August – December, 2026)
To celebrate the library’s 50th Anniversary, the CCPL will undertake a new oral history project to add and expand to the previous one. The goal is to preserve important history and voices in Casey County.
